DoIT&C Face Authentication 1.7

The Department of Information Technology and Communication, Government of Rajasthan, has developed a comprehensive Generic Android application utilizing the UIDAI’s Face RD technology. This application facilitates Aadhaar-based face authentication for residents and beneficiaries in an efficient manner.

This application operates in two distinct modes: Operator mode and Individual mode. In Operator mode, authorized personnel, such as Emitra or Fair Price Shop owners, can execute face authentication on behalf of their consumers using the application installed on their mobile devices. Conversely, in Individual mode, beneficiaries can perform the authentication themselves using their personal mobile phones.

Both operators and beneficiaries must register on the app with their Single Sign-On (SSO) ID. An SSO ID, along with a password, is required for logging into the application.

The UIDAI's face authentication process serves as a reliable means to verify the identity of Aadhaar number holders. A successful face authentication confirms that the physical face being scanned matches the image captured at the time of enrolment for Aadhaar issuance. This process validates the identity of individuals by ensuring that they are indeed who they claim to be.

Face authentication utilizes a 1:1 matching system. This means that the facial image captured during the authentication session is compared against the stored facial image associated with the Aadhaar number, which was recorded during initial enrolment.
